Dear APH Community,

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events in the Atlanta, Georgia area in which eight people, six who identified as Asian American, were senselessly murdered. This violent act is the latest in a series of brutal attacks on members of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities in our country.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, reports of hate incidents directed towards Asians have increased substantially worldwide, resulting in much fear and pain for all of those impacted, both directly and indirectly.

APH is committed to anti-racism beliefs, practices, and policies—within our school and within our local communities. We stand against acts of hate and violence and alongside our friends and families within the Asian community.

May this be a time of listening, understanding, and standing up for one another, building confidence and trust within our relationships, and supporting each other in the shared work that we will continue to do, in and out of school, to build a more inclusive community with equitable opportunities for all.

Let us continue taking care of one another.
