Affording The Academy at Penguin Hall

An Academy education is an investment in your daughter’s academic and personal development that does not depreciate over time. In fact, this investment grows in value throughout the course of her lifetime as she pursues her advanced education, a rewarding career and most importantly, enjoys a balanced and satisfying life.

Tuition for The Academy at Penguin Hall offers an unparalleled value among private schools on the North Shore. Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year is $24,800, including all academic fees and lunch. Additional fees apply for van transportation.

At The Academy, we recognize that when choosing a private, independent school, finances play an important role in the decision. The Academy at Penguin Hall strives to make its educational experience attainable to as many families as possible. Listed below are some possible resources for affording The Academy at Penguin Hall including financial aid. Families should seek all possible resources for financing an Academy education before applying for financial aid.

  • Your Tuition Solution offers flexible, budget-friendly short and long term loans specifically for private education.
  • 529 plans can be used for private elementary and high school tuition: The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was signed into law in December 2017, allows families to use 529 plans to pay for up to $10,000 in tuition expenses at elementary or secondary public, private or parochial schools. The changes became effective on January 1, 2018.
  • Home Equity lines of credit: families should investigate if a home equity line of credit could be used towards tuition.

Financial Aid Responsibility

The primary responsibility for tuition rests with the student’s family; however, we recognize that families may require financial assistance to enable enrollment at The Academy at Penguin Hall. For all families, full participation is expected of both biological parents, stepparents and/or the adults with whom the child lives, has custody or has financial influence and responsibility in the student’s life.

In the process of evaluating a family’s financial situation, the financial aid process requires the complete documentation of all parties and the full transparency of all those identified in the categories listed above, regardless of divorce, separation or estrangement. Documentation and transparency are also required if other parties with a relationship to the child or their family (grandparents, friends, etc.) will be involved in funding all or part of tuition. A financial aid award will not be issued unless we have the required information from all parties.
