Amanda joins us after teaching for the past two years at Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical High School as our Biology teacher. She discovered her passion for teaching science after completing her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture while working as a substitute teacher. Obtaining her degree awarded her the opportunity to understand and value ecology and ecological sustainability which is applied in very thoughtful and practical ways throughout her biology curriculum.
Outside of the classroom, Amanda contributes to the growth/wellness of at-risk youths in her community with the volunteer based organic farm program she started and currently manages at Plummer Youth Promise in Salem, MA for the past 8 years.
Amanda received her Master of Landscape Architecture from Bernard & Anne Spitzer School of Architecture and her Bachelor of Environmental Design with an Emphasis on Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
