How does the APH teaching philosophy look in your classroom?
I love the discovery and “Ah-ha!” moment of experiencing science. I want my students to learn content and understand scientific information and principles at a deep level, but I also want them to DO science and experience the wonder of the natural world and experimentation.
What excites you most about The Academy At Penguin Hall?
I am excited by innovative teaching methods that focus on educating girls. I love the intentional community and collaborative environment of the faculty and students. What an exciting place to be a learner and educator!
What inspires you?
I am constantly inspired by learning new information and having new experiences. The continuous learning involved in teaching keeps me fresh and engaged, while providing new topics or information to incorporate into my classes.
Emily earned a BA in Environmental Studies from Wellesley College, with a concentration in Environmental Science and Geoscience.
