One of the founding faculty members of APH, Sherry Cook is so excited to be returning to APH! Her time away from the classroom over the last two years was exciting, reflective, and full of opportunities for growth. She realized a long-held dream to hike 2,192 miles from Georgia to Maine along the Appalachian Trail. She says she is still processing the multitude of lessons learned from that crazy empowering adventure and promises to talk your ear off about it if you let her! Mrs. Cook says, “Know this: six months in the woods did not mellow my passion for all things STEM! I was fortunate enough over the last two years to have the opportunity to teach STEM methods and mentor future teachers while serving as an adjunct lecturer at Endicott College. I’ve also been flexing my creative curriculum design muscles as a freelance writer and editor. All of these opportunities and explorations have fueled my desire to return to the classroom. I can’t wait to pursue interesting and fun intellectual adventures with the amazing young women at the Academy!”
Mrs. Cook holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UMass-Amherst, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and an MAT in Physics and Mathematics from Tufts University.
